Hebrews 1:3 tells us that Jesus Christ is the perfect revelation of God's glory: "The Son is the radiance of God's glory and the exact representation of his being, sustaining all things by his powerful word." (NIV).He is the glory! And when God's glory touches us, the true, weighty presence of God is being released into our lives. The Hebrew word for this glory of God is kabod, and it literally means, "the abundant riches, glory, splendor, and honor of God." The root word it comes from indicates a literal weight. So we see that the glory of God is a tangible presence of weighty, abundant riches, honor, and glory. Moses experienced the glory and witnessed this tangible presence: "The Lord said to Moses, 'I am going to come to you in a dense cloud, so that the people will hear me speaking with you and will always put their trust in you.' …On the morning of the third day there was thunder and lightning, with a thick cloud over the mountain, and a very loud trumpet blast." (Exodus 19:9, 16 NIV).
